Oslo Rygge Airport closing business November 1st 2016

The Norwegian Government decided 13th May 2016 to introduce a new passenger tax valid from 1st June 2016.

This decision has severe impact on Ryanair’s ability to remain its base operations from Moss airport Rygge/ Oslo Rygge Airport (RYG) and Ryanair is forced to close down its base from RYG. For RYG this means significant traffic volume loss and the facility is no longer commercially viable.  RYG’s executive board has announced that the civilian part of the airport is to close from 1st November 2016.

We deeply regret the decision.
